FPIA has fully deployed an Automated Meter Integration (AMI) system that indicates when power is lost to a meter. Even though we have this capability there is no substitute for the information provided when a customer calls in to report a power outage. To better support customer calls during outages, FPIA has increased the number of phone lines available to handle calls and has employed the services of Cooperative Response Center (CRC) to handle after-hours calls. These changes should improve our communications with customers and improve our ability to obtain critical information during an outage. Please understand that no system is fool proof and during extreme conditions there may still be times when all lines are tied up and you may have difficulty getting through. During these times we ask for your patience and understanding, knowing that our crews are tracking outages and will be working to restore power as soon as safely possible.
